What a week!

It’s been just ‘one of those weeks’ – nothing horrible, nothing really wrong but nothing really right either.

I’ve been busy with work which is great and I can say that’s probably the one area where everything was just hunky dory. I’ve enjoyed blending oils, creating sigils and other such magickal pursuits. Great fun and it gives me such a feeling of accomplishment when I know I’m helping someone (which is a million miles away from my old career in IT).

We had parents evening this week which went as expected. Number 1 son is golden boy – everyone loves him, his teacher can’t sing his praises loud enough and he does effortlessly well academically. Number 2 son is not number 1 son. Say no more.

It’s also been a week of tantrums. Although Daniel (#1) is immaculately behaved at school, when he comes home he dons his demon mask and gives me hell. Well, not all the time but it feels like it this week. He’s been rude, there’s been tears, arguments and stress (mine). Even though he’s only 10 I know he’s beginning to move from being a boy to a man so I have sympathy in bucket loads for hormones. BUT I also have to be a mum which means I’ve been the disciplinarian. Oh yay.

Then there’s Tabitha. OMG Tabitha. She’s turned into a book control freak. She LOVES books and as I’m a total book worm myself I adore seeing my little girl enjoying turning the pages of her toddler books. The problem comes when it’s time to do something else like eat or sleep. She throws the biggest tantrum ever when the book is taken away from her. And she’s loud. Really, really loud. She had a tantrum in the supermarket this week because she dropped a post it note (was the shopping list… she’s not picky about her reading material) and little kids nearby stopped, stunned and covered their ears. I’m looking at about 3-4 tantrums per day with her. Yay again!

And I’ve had bad hair today.

Well, I’m off to have pizza for dinner. It’s become quite a Friday tradition and I’m loving it :-) This week I feel I deserve it.
